Using & Caring for Selenite

Selenite to Seal the Aura

Question: Sheila - I hope you don't mind a question on a crystal I recently bought. I found your site while doing online research. I recently when to Colorado on vacation and visited Glenwood Caverns in Glenwood Springs,Co. They had a gift shop that had all sorts of rocks and crystals. I ended up buying a huge Selenite Crystal that was in a tower form and had a regular light in the bottom of it.

It must be at least 12 to 14 inch tall and 4 to 6 inch think. It is really big and heavy. (15lbs or more) My question is that I would like to use it for programming and to assist in healing. Do I use it in the same manner as the wands that you talk about in your videos? I am just not sure how I would go about using it since I really can't easily "hold it to the various chakras".

I probably will go ahead and get a selenite wand from you as well, so I have a wand, but would be interested in your response. I also read that Selenite is the only crystal that can program quartz...is that correct?

I appreciate any assistance you might be able to give.

Answer: Hi, thank you for your email. To use your large Selenite stone for healing, you can clean, charge and program it the same way as other stones. Please keep in mind that Selenite will dissolve in water and in general is very fragile. As for healing, it will be hard to wield the cluster easily over yourself or others, so in this case we suggest you place your hands over it for meditation or to seal the aura. A wand will make it easier for portable crystal healing. For the cluster you can do visualizations instead of active healing over the chakras.

We have not heard that Selenite is the only crystal to program quartz. In fact, the term programming as we use it refers to your intentions focusing the energy of the crystal. In this way you can program all of your stones according to whichever energy you are seeking from it at the particular time.

CRYSTALS: Dream Clarity

QUESTION: Hi, I had some odd dreams. Not sure why or what caused them. Seemed to delve into my sub-conscious somehow. I was wondering if it was one of the beads I picked up or the quartz ball... Is there a crystal/stone that influences dreaming and brings things to the surface from the unconscious to waking life? Just curious. I thought it was pretty cool, but very powerful.

CRYSTALS: Cranky Neighbors

QUESTION: I need some crystals for energy wall between our neighbor and us. got instructed to put lots of clear quartz along the fence and mix with rose quartz and rainbow obsidian....should I go on te website? Protection, protection, clearing energy. Any tips?

ANSWER: Hi, yes, Rose Quartz is a very effective crystal in calming the divide between your place and your neighbors. The larger the piece the better - place it on the wall/fence that connects you and program the crystal for peace. Quartz can definitely amplify any programming you are doing, so Quartz is always an effective crystal to boost up any layout or grid. And, as you are well aware, Rainbow Obsidian is our number one crystal of choice to transmute any negative energies. This will help to protect your own auras. This is an excellent grid, however I would recommend having more of the Rose Quartz and using the other two stones as fillers.

Depending on the size of your space, you will want crystals that are relatively equal to the space. For example, if you were doing a grid around yourself, smaller tumbled stones would work. If you are gridding a room, you may want medium size. If you are doing a whole house, the bigger (or more) the better!

CRYSTALS: Joint Disease

QUESTION: Dear Sheila, I have been a customer of yours for the past few years. I'm 50 yrs old, slim build and 5'11". Have always been healthy and active. I have recently been diagnosed with a debilitating joint disease called Ankylosing spondylitis (AS), which is a chronic inflammatory disease of the axial skeleton. The name for the disorder is derived from the Greek root "ankylos", which means bent or crooked and "spondylos", which refers to a vertebra. The term "ankylosis" therefore refers to a fibrous or bony bridging of joints.

My symptoms consist of low back pain, buttocks pain, stooped posture, hip pain, knee pain, shoulder pain with limited mobility, and the most irritable symptom, fatigue.

I have many crystals but would like to know which ones you'd recommend.

I've changed my diet and am taking alot of vitamins & minerals. My MD just started me on Cymbalta to help with anxiety, pain and energy. I "hate" taking it and am on my 5th day of which it would take a month to start working. My whole being is saying not to take it, so what do I do, I take it. I'm just leery of "brain altering chemicals" and dont want to lose my "clarity" and sense of self if you know what mean.

Hi, thank you for writing to us. First, let me say that you have the right state of mind in wanting to heal yourself without the chemical pills. Keep faith in those positive thoughts and you will be better in no time. Don't let "diagnosis" dictate your life. You are in control of you own destiny and if you want to live healthy for many years to come, it is up to you to make that happen!

That being said, I can recommend a few different crystals that have worked for other clients of ours. Of course, you may want to experiment and find the ones that will work best for you. LIke crystal healing books, we can guide you, but in the end, each one of us has different wavelenghts and will correspond to different crystals differently.

Lower Back Pain - place large pieces or several tumbled stones of Carnelian in the lower back region while lying down. Bones and Joints - use Mochi Balls (we have had the best results with these for those with bones, arthritis problems) by rubbing the affected areas and/or Malachite over the joints. Fatigue - Labradorite is a very motivational stone, used common in the athletic realm for endurance and Red Jasper for physical energy. Jasper also nurtures you in times of stress and illness. Of course, the Master Healer, Quartz is always effective in amplifying your energies and can be great in giving you strength, energetically and physically.

ANSWER: Hello! The main component of Nebula Stone is Quartz, so it would be a good idea to charge it in the sun.

As for cleaning, you can choose your preferred method. We like to us dry brown rice as it doesn't scratch like salt and is safer than water which can dissolve certain soft stones.

CRYSTALS: Family Ties

QUESTION: My cat jumped on my crystals while they were charging under a beautifulful moon. She broke four rose twisted wands. They broke in half. I superglued them together. My ? is I believe they still work. I use them as a grid around my bedroom. I just want to be sure my "sense" is correct. Your answer is appreciated when you have some time.

Also, my husband has been out of work for six months. Neither of us can find any work. We may lose our home. I have two teenagers who have ADD, ODD & ADHD and I'm menopausal (Arghhhhh). I'm the disciplinarian and follow through with consequences. My husband is a threatener and never follows through. Now they disrespect him so awful its disgusting I used to intervene, but have told him for years that thos was going to come back and bote him in the ass. Every night, there's a battle raging between my husband and children. I stay out of it They know better than to speak to me that way So, it's a constant battle for me and our marriage is pretty much over.

I've been smudging the house, gridding around the house, putting crystals under mattresses and gridding rooms, burning candles, using essential oils. Is there a "magic" stone for me.I feel like I'm going to explode. I even go so far as to go outside and hug cypress trees (my favorite). I call upon my angels, guides, ancestors and animal guides. In my heart I know I'll be fine, but I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle, as my husband is the type of person who buries his head in the sand. I'm trying very hard to keep the peace (I'm a Libra), but feel I'm losing my family and the closeness.
