Hematite is an iron-based mineral. Hematite is found as a shiny black, silvery gray crystal known as Specular Hematite or Specularite and also as a brown earthy red mass known as Red Ocher. No mater what the form or color of the Hematite, it will typically have a rust-red streak.

Hematite can also be spelled Haematite, and is the mineral form of Iron Oxide.

Chakras - Base Chakra
Zodiac - Aries, Aquarius
Planet – Mars
Element – Fire
Typical colors -Black to steel or silver-grey, brown to reddish brown, or red

Hematite grounds and protects. This mineral strengthens our connection to the earth, imparting a sense of security.  It can also give us courage, strength, endurance and vitality.  Considered a stone for our minds, Hematite fuels concentration and focus, enhancing memory and original thought.

Hematite utilizes the magnetic qualities of the yin-yang energies to balance our bodies and maintain a stable equilibrium within the nervous system.  It focuses our energy and emotions to promote balance between the body, mind and spirit.

Hematite drains negativity and prevents us from absorbing the negativity of others.  Hematite has strong properties, supporting timidity, boosting self-esteem and survival instincts, enhancing willpower and reliability, and delivering confidence. It helps overcome compulsions and addictions like overeating and smoking.

Hematite restores, strengthens and regulates our blood supply, assisting in the healing process for blood conditions like anemia.  It supports the kidneys and regenerates tissue,  stimulates the absorption of iron and formation of red blood cells.  Hematite is also used to treat leg cramps, anxiety and insomnia.

Magnetite vs Hematite

Question: Hi, I am looking for magnetite bracelet which has therapy effect on wrist, I saw your another magnetite bracelet, those magnetite orbs seem much more shinny and polished than the magnetite orbs for this item? Are both also natural magnetite ? Their color look very different.

Which magnetite has better healing effect ?

How about the hematite? The hematite looks very polished, are they also genuine one ?

Answer: Hi, thank you for your email. The shinier, more polished Magnetite bracelet is natural Hematite mixed with man-magnetized minerals. The matte colored grayish orbs you see in this bracelet is natural Magnetite and does not hold such a high magnetic charge. It depends on your preferences. Some people prefer to stick with only natural stones, others prefer the high magnetic effects of man-magnetized stones and the polished look of shiny stones versus matte effect.

As for the Hematite on this bracelet, is it natural, but reconstituted Hematite (ground and shaped) with a high polish on the surface. You may still see little craters of red iron, as natural Hematite has a red mineral streak.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email us

Sincerely,
Sheila Satin
