The Fifth Chakra: Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is located in the area of the throat and larynx. This chakra is associated with communication and creativity.

As we move up the chakra system, self and physical limitations are beginning to deteriorate. The fifth chakra represents the exchange of information, via communication, between two people.

Amazonite Stretch Bracelet: Throat and Root Chakras

The element sound or ether is represented by the fifth chakra. Sound is simply vibration, and ether represents the world of unseen vibration. The fifth chakra is the last of the chakras to be associated with an element as the sixth and seventh chakras are spirit chakras.
The universe is made up of vibrations. Some of these vibrations operate in such a way that we can hear them (via sound), see them (via color), feel them (via heat), and sense them. The last conception of vibrations, sense, works on a very subtle level.

The fifth or throat chakra is associated with the color electric bright blue. The color blue has the fifth longest wavelength and fifth slowest frequency in the visual color spectrum. The symbol for the Throat Chakra is a blue, sixteen petal lotus flower.

The Fourth Chakra: Heart Chakra

Chakras are energy centers that mediate life force energy between the energy field, the unified field, other people, the environment, and the physical body.  Through this circulation of energy, chakras nourish the body and its physiological systems, having the greatest energetic influence on the area of the body nearest to its location.

The major chakras are positioned along the central vertical axis of the body, beginning at the perineum ending at the top of the head. The Sanskrit name for the 4th chakra is "Anahata." This word means "unstruck" or "stillness."

The Second Chakra: Let's Get Creative

The second chakra is known as the sacral plexus chakra, spleen chakra or sexual chakra. It is located in the lower abdomen behind and approximately two inches from the belly button, in the area of the womb.

The second chakra is represented by the orange Svadhistthana mandala (or “one’s own place”), the element of water and is also symbolised by a fish.

This chakra is considered the source of creativity and inspiration. It is the foundation of what is considered the emotional body, and influences our ability to feel emotions, sensations and atmospheres, and controls our ability to let go of our emotions. The second chakra influences our sexuality and sensuality, physical force, sexual and ardent love, open-mindedness, our ability to yield and getting along with others.

This chakra physically impacts the lower abdomen, spleen, liver, bladder, kidneys, sexual organs, reproduction and fertility. When the sacral plexus chakra is performing correctly, a person will feel healthy, open, friendly, imaginative, creative and focused.

When this chakra is balanced it encourages intuition, a good frame of mind, energy and success. It helps us learn from our experiences, and provides us with the focus we need to achieve our ambitions. Balancing Your Chakras: The Root Chakra

There are main energy centers located throughout our bodies. These energy centers are connected to major organs or glands that govern other body parts. Each of these main energy centers are referred to as a chakra. The term “chakra” is a Sanskrit word that translates to “wheel.”  A chakra is a wheel-like spinning vortex that moves in a circular motion forming a vacuum in its center, drawing in anything it encounters on its vibratory level.

There are seven chakras. The first chakra governs survival. A clear and healthy first chakra can create a sense of security, and enables a sense of balance and well-being.

The first chakra is located at the base of the spine. This chakra rules the lowest vibration of our body and therefore has the slowest wavelength. There are four spokes, or “petals.” Four is also the number of the square and foundations.

The color for the first chakra is red, which is also the lowest frequency of a human's visible light spectrum. Red is also the color of anger and vitality.

The first chakra rules our physical energies. Also known as the root chakra, it governs our energy, heredity, survival, security, passion, money, job, and home.

Even though, the first chakra has many masculine qualities it is also the "seat of the Goddess Kundalini" and is therefore often associated with our relationship with our mothers and with Mother Earth. Our relationships with our mothers set up our attitude toward home, security, and money. If we are cut off from our roots, we feel cut off from the earth as well.

To shop from our vast collection of chakra healing crystals, please visit our webstore at Tomorrow we will share details about the second chakra and its attributes.
