Amethyst Charger Cluster

Question: Could you please tell me which crystals do not require cleaning/charging.  Thanks.

Answer: Hi, as you know, most stones need to be cleaned and charged regularly.  However, some crystals are self cleansing.  These include Rainbow Obsidian and Citrine.  There are also certain formations that do not need to be charged, because they themselves are chargers for smaller stones.  Large clusters, geodes, and selenite logs do not need to be charged.  Bowls and cups also do not need to be charged if you are using them as chargers.

Although these crystals do not need to be charged, we still recommend cleaning them once in awhile.  Larger crystals can be easily cleaned with sage or incense:

You can conveniently clean them by waving the sage smoke over them while you are cleaning your other stones.  Of course, positive intention is the most important part of the entire cleaning-charging-programming process.

CRYSTALS: Cluster Cleaning

QUESTION: Hi, I received my cluster and it is just beautiful. I am just learning and starting to use crystals, Your website is very helpful, but I would like to clarify do I need to clean and charge and program my cluster? I know you discuss this for crystals. So is this needed with my Arilbite cluster with apophyllite? Please advise. Thanks

ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Clusters are actually self-cleaning as they are constantly circulating positive energy through all of the crystal points, working harmoniously from the common base. We can clean other crystals by placing them on clusters.

However, I do clean my clusters from time to time to remove it of dust. In this case I usually run it under water and leave it to air dry.

Leaving clusters in the windowsill to charge in the sunlight and/or moonlight is also beneficial to keep the crystal's charge.

And, yes, definitely program your cluster if you want it to do something specific!

CRYSTALS: Selenite Caves

QUESTION: Hi Sheila, my 11 year old granddaughter is very attracted to my selenite pieces. I have several. I recall looking at some pictures from Mexico of a huge selenite find that you had on one of your sites shortly after I joined. Can you tell me how to access that again? I have searched, and I have typed in selenite in the photos search box but nothing comes up. I feel my granddaughter's attraction to this stone is a very significant part of her future. I am very attracted to it as well...that's why I have several pieces. Also, I have heard that selenite doesn't have to be cleaned, it holds no negativity and clean other crystals as does crystal quartz. Is this true? Thank you so much for your work in this exciting awareness of crystals.

And, you are correct, Selenite does not hold negativity. Like Quartz clusters, it is able to clean other crystals of negative energies and does not cleaning itself!
