The Power of Blue Healing Crystals

There are several ways in which crystals can be used for physical and mental healing, including balancing the chakras, or wheels of light, which act as energy conductors throughout the body. Each chakra is associated with a particular color, and blue healing crystals are associated with the fifth, or Throat, chakra. This means they are often used to deal with ailments of the mouth, teeth, jaw, nose, throat, and neck, and may help with problems in communication and self-expression.

The two main examples of blue healing crystals are blue kyanite and aqua aura quartz. Kyanite comes in many colors, but blue is the most often used. Blue kyanite is considered to have the power to aid meditation, as it seems to relax the mind and put you into a calm and restful state. It is also thought to facilitate the balancing and aligning of all the chakras, so it is a good crystal to use at the beginning of a meditation session. The Sixth Chakra: Intuition and Knowledge

The sixth chakra, also considered the Third Eye chakra, is located between the eyebrows on the forehead. It is primarily linked to the pituitary gland and is associated with the face, eyes, ears, nose, parts of the brain and the central nervous system.

Represented by the 96 petalled lotus, it encompasses all senses and vibrates in the color of indigo "Ajna" is the Sanskrit word for the 6th chakra. It means "beyond wisdom." It has also been translated to mean "the perception center."  

The 6th chakra is located between, and just above, the eyes. It is often referred to as the "third eye." This chakra deals with visualization, intuition, imagination and telepathy.

Organ/parts of body associated with the 6th chakra:

• Pituitary gland, eyes, head, lower brain

The emotion for the 6th chakra is "knowing", as in an intuitive type of knowing.

The color is purple/violet, both spiritual colors.

When the energy in the 6th chakra is excessive, it can cause headaches, hallucinations, nightmares and difficulty in concentrating.

But when the energy is deficient, there may be eye problems, poor memory, inability to visualize.

CRYSTALS: Iolite

QUESTION: Hi, I have a question for you about Iolite. I used this crystal for the first time during a class for finding your inner goddess. Each week we focus on a different chakra along with yoga and have crystals that correspond to that chakra.

Since using Iolite on the third eye, I've felt very emotional, crying, kind of like a roller coaster ride. Very anxious, i feel like i have so much emotion that is coming out, and right now feel very depressed , worried, upset...but maybe this is releasing of old emotions? I feel very overwhelmed by these emotions. One of the healers at the class mentioned that sometimes when you open the third eye, you can open it too much and things come in a flood. I'm not sure if that might be what's happening?

ANSWER: HI, thanks for your question. I have heard similar stories with Malachite at the heart. I always suggest those who are feeling a strong emotional release to counterbalance the aggressive crystals with something softer. For Malachite, I suggest Rose Quartz. For you I would suggest Angelite or Celestite since you are working with the third eye. If these emotions are something you are not ready to deal with right now, I would stop using the Iolite for a while and calm the emotions at the Solar Plexus with Moonstone.

When you are ready to deal with the emotions, it is going to come out and you will have to face them, but in the end, you will come out much stronger and your mind will be very clear. But, everyone has go on their own pace!
