Question: Hello, I am working with people in the social work industry and i seem to pick up lot of heavy/confused/negative energies which drains me. Just wondering what types of crystals i could wear to protect or shield myself from absorbing such energies? Thanks.

Many times in life, we need some extra protection, whether it be from our own negative thoughts, outside dangers, violence, evil entities or foul neighbors. Here are some popular crystals you can program for protection.


Here are some popular crystals used for protection:

• Jet: this lightweight fossilized charcoal wood has long been used as a talisman against violence. If you are out on the streets or in an abusive relationship, program a Jet stone. Because of its weight, it is easy to carry with you or wear a large chunk.
• Pyrite: also known as fool's gold comes in a metallic silver to gold. Pyrite is great in deflecting unwanted energies. It is very popular in gridding your house or space to keep out negative influences. Place Pyrite crystals in each corner of the room, bed, car, office or whatever space needs protection.

Crystals to protect your kids.

Question: I had to deal with the police again last night as my ex husband disappeared with our son again. Is there a crystal that helps protect kids? I programmed a piece of jet and an amethyst for him. 

Answer: I am sorry to hear about your son. Jet is a good one for protection from violence. I would also recommend Ruby. In India, Rubies have been long used to protect children as they grow up. Other protective stones you may want to try are Pyrite (pictured), Black Tourmaline and Black Onyx.
