Energize the Root Chakra

The Root Chakra is connected to physical energy and grounding to the present moment. The Root Chakra links us to the physical world, solidity and support - especially to the physical body. It is the foundation of energy. We are like trees, we need to have strong deep roots to grow. Our social roots are so complex and chaotic these days that we must lie our roots in the Earth to have a sense of place and meaning and stability.

SANSKRIT: Muladhara – Mula=root, adhara=support

Root Chakra:

• Located at the base of the spine.
• Keeps us rooted to earth, but we don’t want to live only in this chakra which would lead to the ruling of power, territory, violence and ego. We want a balance of all the chakras.
• Represents primitive instinct, survival.
• Roots us to the earth to realize our dependence on the earth's nourishment and care.

Question: Hi Sheila...  How are you? This morning, I was about to do my chakra balancing. I dropped aquamarine on the wooden floor. And, it broke in half. I'm shocked...  What does this mean?  Thanks.

Answer: I am sorry to hear about your Aquamarine crystal. Sometimes it means that the crystal has absorbed too much energy, depending on what you are working on (for example, if your throat chakra was very blocked and the crystal was not charged enough, it might drain the stones' energies). There have many reports of crystals breaking for no good reason.

However, in the case of dropping the crystal, it was most likely broken from the physical impact on the stone.

Response: Dear Sheila...  OMG!!  I use chakra crystals to balance my chakra.  I always have a problem with my throat.  When I receive massage, I can't allow most therapist to touch my throat and neck. How I can charge the crystal?  Necklace has been tremendously helpful to block anybody or any space to drain my energy. God bless you. Looking forward to hearing from you on a new crystal to replace my aquamarine.

CRYSTALS: Substitutions

QUESTION: Sheila I have enjoyed your Video - BUT, I need some clarification upon Crystal Healing. Is it permisable to substitute a Lemurian Seed Crystal Quartz Wand and an Obsidian Onyx Chip Necklace.

ANSWER: Thank you for your question and for watching my crystal healing tutorial video! As mentioned before, the tutorial is but a guideline of suggested crystals and ones I myself prefer to use. However, each healer will be different.

A lemurian seed crystal is a perfect substitute to a Quartz Generator wand and an Obsidian Onyx Necklace is a great substitute for holding an Obsidian Slab. You just want to make sure you are protected in some way, whether wearing a piece of jewelry, holding it or having a large black crystal near you in the healing area! (pictured is a Mahogany Obsidian Flower).

Trust your intuition and you will excel in crystal healing!
